The triangle shaped building in the bottom right hand corner is the famous Flatiron Building. Broadway cuts through Midtown Manhattan’s strict grid system at an angle, creating some odd shaped lots. The Flatiron building was built on one such lot in 1902. The pointed end, nearest Madison Square Park has a vertex of ~25 degrees. The building is also the namesake of the surrounding neighborhood, the Flatiron District.
